Solved Puzzles
The Case and the Camera

While walking through a market on vacation, you notice a small stand selling cameras.

A camera-and-case set is selling for $310. The seller tells you that the camera costs $300 more than the case itself and that the case costs the price of the set minus the cost of the camera.

You decide you'd rather wait on buying a camera and opt to just buy the case alone.

You hand the seller a $100 bill and see his eyes light up. Think fast now!

How much change should you be getting back?

Answer

$95

Mice Too Many

Mice are famous for their ability to multiply at breakneck speeds. The type of mouse we have here gives birth once a month, birthing 12 babies each time. Baby mice mature and can give birth two months after they are born.

You picked up one of these darling baby mice at the pet shop and brought it home the day after it was born.

In 10 months from now, how many mice will you have?

Answer

1 mouse

The Aliens Are Puzzled

From high in the sky, a pair of aliens observes humans using a bizarre object. Perplexed, one alien turns to the other and says:

"How strange. The Earthling is opening a hole in a sheet of paper and marking it with a line to show the other Earthlings where the hole is. I've never seen anything like it!"

What could these extraterrestrial visitors be talking about?

Answer

Compass

Dividing Newspaper

One day, Mao and his younger sister, Mew, were quarreling. Their mother, May, was tired of the fighting, and decided to punish them by making them stand on the same piece of newspaper in such a way that they couldn't touch each other.

How did she accomplish this?

Answer

Place a newspaper between a closed door and let them stand on both sides.
Since its been a long time without a fifth person answering... might as well close this case!
*drum rolls*

ANSWER: Place a newspaper between a closed door and let them stand on both sides.

Good job everyone! A door is the only thing you can stand between without letting the two kids touch each other. (Shower doors don't count. It would be "TOO" cruel for the one inside the shower. :xd: )

:cheerl: Congratulations to the following! :cheerl:

Place the sheet of newspaper in the doorway. one half of it is on one side and the other half is on the other side. By closing the door, two people can stand on the same sheet of newspaper without having to touch one another. Smart mom!

ooppppsss!
eto pala solution..haha

where
x= birds
y= puppies
---------------------------------------
EQ1: 2x + 4y =86
EQ2: 2x + 2y =60

simplify EQ2

2x = 60 - 2y

x= (60/2) - (2y/2)

x=30-y --> EQ2'

--------------------------------------
substitute EQ2' from EQ1

[2(30-y)]+4y=86
60-2y+4y=86
2y=86-60
y=26/2
therefore:
y=13 ---> No. of puppies

To get value of x, substitute value of y in EQ2

2x+2(13)=60
2x=60-26
x=34/2
therefore:
x=17 -->No. of birds
